Physiotherapy | Dry Needling | Pilates & Pregnancy
Born in Barcelona. Lived and worked in Vienna, Barcelona, New York and Amsterdam.
I danced since I can remember. I was lucky to have had the change to become a dancer, being able to enjoy music every day. A lifestyle which was unique and even if it was not always easy, it became a treasure for me and my family. I like to keep learning, moving and (re)discovering.
As a physical therapist I aim to help you to recognize possible imbalances of the musculoskeletal system, trying to stimulate the recovery of mobility and functional capacity to (re)find the balance and enjoy the movement within your own body.
A treatment session consists of examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention or guidance if needed.
I use Muskuloskeletal Ultrasound (MSU), to visualise and assess soft tissue (as muscles, tendons and ligaments) as well as the quality of the joints (as the shoulder, knee and ankle).
Ultrasound can also be used as visual feedback for patients and/or to evaluate tissue healing.
I'm accredited to support pregnant women from three months of pregnancy and a year after giving birth, with training and coaching in a group or individually.
Prevention and information to understand the changes that are taking place during and after pregnancy is a major role.
Dry Needling is a therapy method that can be used in a gentle way to release tension or Trigger points, that can cause muscle pain, stiffness or radiating pain.
During a treatment, the therapist looks for one or more active Trigger points. Reaching the Trigger points with an Acupuncture needle an involuntary muscle twitch happens as a natural reaction from the muscle. Then immediately the muscle relaxes. The treatment is short and effective. After the treatment, the muscle could feel a little sore.
This treatment method will be applied only after we have given a clear explanation and your permission.
Practicing Pilates gives a strong and flexible body that moves with grace and freedom. It helps to re-set neurological movement patterns which leads to lean bodies that are stable and strong to the core.
To me it is an ideal form of exercise. It allows exercises to be modified as required for different needs. The routines help to achieve lean muscles, strength and endurance in the legs, abdominal, arms, hips and back.
Breathing is important and encouraged.
